If you havent seen the show, this is a great place to start, for $20 or less, you can experience the entire first season, but there wasnt nearly as much combat as later seasons, making this entry have a strong focus on different activities like collecting coins, delivering Ramen, and other "fetch quests" although there is a decent amount of battles throughout the 8-10 hour game (multiplayer fighting adds replay value, no online in this one though)

the graphics are phenominal, when it released it was a new standard for cell shading in my opinion. The Hidden Leaf Village and surrounding areas could easily be called the most fully realized game world based on a cartoon. its pretty impressive. longtime fans will be in heaven. most voice acting is dont perfectly by the original cast including naruto and sasuke (i forget if the japanese audio is available)

basically the game plays out as an open world adventure game with an addictive arcade style fighting engine (best fighting engine in a naruto game other then the PS3 exclusive) everything works perfectly as you progress and learn new techniques and jutsu.

i should mention the difficulty is pretty maxed out, making every boss fight feel like the final boss on some other fighting games. i guess it was to emulate the feeling of narutos battles, but it can be frustrating sometimes. also, theres no option to change the difficulty.

essentially its the first great naruto game, and a great place to start if you dont know the story, but if you're already familiar with the first season you might just want to skip right to Naruto: The Broken Bond. -- the first great naruto game, but kinda obsolete with Broken Bond available

Everyone says this is the "ultimate Naruto game". That it's undoubtedly the anime in video game form, "Grand Theft Naruto". I've played through it and I gotta say: Not so much. It's fun do doubt, a beautiful, fun game. But it's not perfect. There's not actually very much to do and it seems to be a bit skimpy on the plot. Fighting is mediocre, jutsus are repetitive and easy as hell. Broken Bond actually looks to be a little better. Here's hoping it is -- Not as good as they told me

I've been a fan of Naruto for many, many years. I've never tried any of the Naruto based games, because they were all fighting games. So when I first saw this game, I knew I had to buy it. Let me just say that this game is amazing. The Hidden Leaf village is huge and you are free to roam the entire village. The fighting system took me a bit of time to get used to, but it is very well thought out. I love the fact that I can do hand seals to perform the jutsu. My only complaint is the English dubs. Of course, that's more of a personal preference. If you really can't stand the dubs, just download the Japanese pack from XBL. It removes some NPC dialogues but to hear the game in it's original language is well worth it. Overall, if you are a Naruto fan, then you should definitely pick this game up! -- Naruto: Rise of a Ninja

I loved this game. I love the Naruto world and this game was amazing. The fighting sequences of the game were very fun but seriously challenging at points. There's quite a learning curve when it comes to mastering the fights. Exploring the city is very fun, it's massive and with the help of the mini map it almost reminds me of a Naruto-Grand Theft Auto mix. The only real drawback I've noticed has been that in the animations, the mouths of the characters don't move. It can be a little unsettling at first and looks awkward. I really feel like the designers just got lazy and didn't feel like making mouth animations. All in all this game earns it's four out of five stars mainly due to the unique fight sequences and varied gameplay. -- Great but a little lazy.
